These closures include, but are not limited to: New Year’s Day, Teacher Workday in March and June, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the day before and day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and possibly other days as designated by We-Kare-A-Lot, Inc.

We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. may take an observed holiday if one of these holidays falls on a weekend. Our closure dates are published every December of the preceding year.

What ages participate in your Pre-School/Child Care?

We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. serves all children aged 1 year old and walking through 16 years of age. We have an open enrollment policy. Children are enrolled at the centre without regard to religion, race, or ethnicity when space is available.

We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act by providing the means necessary to assist any special needs child in the centre.

Do you watch television in your child care?

We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. has a movie library for the children to view. The videos that We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. has are rated “G” and appropriate for the children. The library includes Bob the Builder, Paw Patrol, Bluey, Peppa the Pig, Super Kitties, etc.

The children at We Kare-A-Lot, Inc. will occasionally watch videos as they relate to our lessons or for fun, due to inclement weather.

What is your classroom discipline policy?

At We Kare-A-Lot, Inc., we use Love and Logic as our primary source of discipline. This means the child will have three(3) chances to correct their behavior, and if not corrected, they will be given thinking time. We use reflective listening, redirection, and positive reinforcement. We use a thinking spot instead of asking them to go to time out.

If the child endangers themselves, teachers, or other children repeatedly, the parents will be called, a plan will be implemented. If the behavior persists the parents could be called and asked to come pick up their child. This includes physical violence towards others, excessive biting, and/or poor choice of words, phrases, or usage of adult words.
